And so it begins…

And so it begins…

Over the weekend, Eric and I were in Connecticut for the 6th Annual Fragile X Conference sponsored by The Fragile X Society of Connecticut. While we were selling t-shirts, hugging new friends and old and learning a ton…this happened.

And this morning we watched bits of Charlie Brown, The Grinch and Frosty the Snowman.

Someone is ready for Christmas! Our Toys R Us catalog hasn’t arrived yet but I suspect it will be greeted with joy. Me…I’m plotting elf hijinks. Yay!

Day 29 – Sweet goodbyes.

Day 29 – Sweet goodbyes.

One day, a couple weeks back, Sneaky elf went to school. Caleb was amazed and thrilled when Sneaky turned up in the hood of the classroom aid’s hoodie sweatshirt. It just so happened to be Caleb’s day to share at morning meeting. What a coincidence! Caleb’s classmates, who had been hearing lots of stories about Sneaky, were very excited to get to meet him in person.

Since today was the last day of school before Sneaky will head back to the North Pole until next Christmas, Sneaky decided to send some small treats and holiday wishes to his new friends. I’m really, really grateful to Sneaky for stepping up and handling this task because I hadn’t given any thought to treats for C’s classmates yet and time was up.

Poor Sneaky fell asleep in the box after he finished the last card…that’s what happens when you stay up to 2AM you silly elf!

Day 25 – Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it.

Day 25 – Come on, ride the train, hey, ride it.

So our Polar Express trip on Saturday night didn’t go so well. If it were anything other than a train I might even guess that we’d killed all chances of ever doing it again. It was that awful. On the bright side, I didn’t assault any obnoxious elves! It was a close call though.

Sneak has a way of smoothing over the holes Money tends to dig…I think this train will be better received.

And because I doubt Eric is going to get the song reference in the title…
