Normal developmental stage?

The worst thing about having an only child with FXS is that I never know what is “normal” behavior and what is maybe a sign of problems.

For instance, this weekend Monkey was pretty much glued to me.  I said on more than one occasion that I wished I had a way to tie him to my back so I would at least have my arms free.  He was hanging on me constantly or asking for piggy back rides (he sign’s “pig” and says “back”, pretty darned cute and he came up with it all on his own.)

So..is this normal 4/5 year old behavior or a sign of anxiety?

I think it is normal 4/5 year old behavior. When I did daycare I saw a lot of kids that age act like that.

    Cool,that makes me feel better.

It doesn’t make my thighs feel better after having carryied him up and down 3 flights of stairs more times than I can count over the weekend but…no pain, no gain, right? I’ll chalk it up to extra cardio.

Ryan used to go through that, but as he’s gotten older, he’s pulled away, so now I enjoy when he gets clingy! 🙂

Long waves…my back is aching already. I searched for some slings yesterday, I found some info on “no sew” slings so I might try doing that around the house when he’s on a piggy back fit.
