I broke a wisdom tooth recently and it really, really hurts. Yesterday I went to the dentist and she said I might as well have them all out if I’m going to have one out. So now I need to get all my wisdom teeth removed!
As if that weren’t enough, when she took x-rays she discovered that I need a ROOT CANAL on a tooth that was not bothering me. Bugger! I hate the dentist and now I need something like 4 appointments with her and various specialists in the very near future. Wah!

I just had mine out in May of ’07. It seems like yesterday. I highly recommend general anesthesia! And make sure to stock up with lots and lots of chocolate pudding and vicodin. It really makes for a perfect week’s meals. And don’t suck anything thru a straw.
My dentist recommended nitrous oxide she said it’s “Awesome!” Which worries me a bit and also gives me flashbacks to a certain UMass party I attended in college…
I hate the dentist. Someone just told me about nitrous oxide today and I’m going to find someone around here who offers that before I have work done again. I am permanently scarred from my last visit!
You poor thing. I always use nitrous oxide when I am at the dentist. I wish they offered it for cleanings, too!
stop complaining i got worst
Okay, I’m a big wimp at the dentist–sweaty palms even for a cleaning–, but when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I only used the novocain (I’m even a bigger wimp when it comes to doing anything that would affect my mental state)…really, I didn’t feel any pain…I only heard each root as it was ripped out of my head in slow motion! 😉
Oh! That is really awful. I hate the dentist, too. You absolutely have permission to whine.
So it looks like I will be calling the oral surgeon and telling him that I want the “gas” as she put it, lol. My only worry is that they need to keep Duhdee away from me while I’m in my “altered” state. I don’t want to be hearing stories about what I said for years, lol.
I can barely handle the sound of them just cleaning my teeth never mind hearing the roots ripped out. *faint*
That so sucks!!!! Sorry. Holly is getting her Molars in, so if your pain is anything like her’s has been I feel for you. She is miserable.
Oh, poor Holly! Monkey was absolutely miserable when his molars were coming in too. Now that the antibiotics have kicked in I can avoid pain by remembering to chew on the OTHER side of my mouth…there’s just nothing she can do to make it better. Poor girl.
So when are you getting this done. Need any help — I am sure Duhdee will take good care of you.
I’m not sure on timing. I need to work around a closing that’s set for next week. It keeps getting pushed back and I can’t be out before the closing, it’s too big of a deal.
